Most "I can't focus" is really a missing condition, not weak willpower. Check each: can you state this hour's verifiable output (goal)? Can you know within minutes whether you're right (feedback)? Does the task leave you bored or anxious (challenge-skill match)? Fix the missing one—far more effective than forcing yourself to "focus harder."
Honestly log one day, sorting time into "deep," "shallow," and "switching." If depth is under an hour while switching takes the lion's share, your output is being continuously dragged down by attention residue. A healthy knowledge worker usually needs at least one or two protected deep blocks a day—not squeezed out, but locked in ahead of time.
The distinction matters. If you clearly do better in a relaxed setting with no one watching, it's mostly an interference problem, not an ability one—what you need isn't more instructions but a quieter judging self. If you still can't do it even relaxed, then it really is potential to go back and train. Two ailments, two remedies; don't mix them up.
