Women's Note + Common Myths
Pregnancy demands extra caution: some herbs can be teratogenic or trigger contractions, and safety data are often missing. Iron, calcium, and vitamin D should be supplemented based on test results, not "more can't hurt" — iron overload is also harmful. Claims for perimenopausal "natural estrogen" supplements mostly lack strong evidence.
Myth 1: "Natural = safe" — poisonous mushrooms are natural too (see Day 45, Traditional Medicine).
Myth 2: "Supplements have no side effects, so take extra to be safe" — excess fat-soluble vitamins, adulterated products, and herbal hepatotoxicity are all real harms.
